History of engagement with TiE

Member/Charter Member of TiE Dallas for 10+ years; President since 2019, with term finishing in 2022. As President, championed TiE Dallas’s mission – to identify, nurture and grow entrepreneurs aggressively in the DFW metroplex. Grew significantly over the last few years and made TiE a key component of the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in Dallas. 1. Established flagship programs – TYE (founded it in 2012 and graduated 300+ kids over the years, conducted Global in 2022) TiE U (in 3rd year; 2nd place winner at Global in 2021, SURVIVR got acquired), TiE Women (in 3rd year) and an active TiE Dallas Angels program TDA (3-5 six figure deals done); mentored several individuals and startups that came through the programs.

2. Have grown our charter membership base to close to 50.

3. Established the TiE Dallas brand locally and globally through active engagement with other TiE chapters (Houston, Austin, Hyderabad, SoCAL, SV, NY, Chennai), other orgs (CGI, USICOC); representation at events – (TGS, TiECONs, CM retreats); philanthropic initiatives; and socials.

4. Established a democratic, transparent, process-driven governance model with a clear succession plan and empowered young leaders to build on the success achieved thus far.

5. TiECON held in 2019 and TIECON 2022 scheduled for Nov 18, 2022 with a theme of ‘What makes the city of Dallas in the heartland of America attractive to entrepreneurs, businesses, and investors alike’.

Vision for TiE Global in the BOT role

1. ‘Rise of the Rest’ – Leverage the experience gained in building TiE Dallas, to (a) nurture and assist other chapters that may need guidance, (b) expand the TiE network, especially in the Central United States – states like Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana etc. and (c) establish firm governance models in the smaller chapters.

2. ‘Next Gen’ – Broaden the TiE brand to appeal to the younger generation of entrepreneurs.

3. ‘Go East’ – Explore greater cross-chapter (especially India-US) initiatives with ‘one-on-one’ chapter-to-chapter connections.

4. ‘End-ups’ – Identify and define programs to assist entrepreneurs create and implement clear exit strategies by channelizing the rich network of VCs, PEs, IBs, lawyers, industry domain experts.
